Analytical Chemists

There are three ways you can go as a graduate Analytical Chemist at Pfizer, each of them fascinating, all of them geared towards getting innovative molecules to market quickly, efficiently and safely. And while you're busy helping us deliver the next generation of medicines and vaccines, we'll be helping you to grasp the most fundamental aspects of analytical chemistry in one of the world's leading research environments.

Pharmacokinetics Dynamics & Metabolism – PDM studies the fate of potential new medicines within the body, through the bioanalysis of drug molecules and biological samples.

Research – In this area, scientists isolate pure molecules from chemical reactions, analysing their structure to confirm molecular authenticity.

Pharmaceutical Sciences – Here, Analytical Chemists play a key role in three areas: Analytical Research & Development, Research Analytics and in Inhalation & Devices Centre of Emphasis, where they specialise in the design of new drug delivery systems.

Together with a good honours degree in:

  • Chemistry
  • Forensic Chemistry

Or a related discipline, you must be able to demonstrate an understanding of various analytical techniques and their application. Knowledge of spectroscopy is also highly desirable.

We are not planning to recruit graduates for our scheme in 2009 however please visit www.pfizer.co.uk to register your cv or apply for one of our current vacancies.
