Statisticians

Recently aligned with the company's Clinical R&D activities, Statisticticians at Pfizer are making a bigger impact than ever on the research and development of innovative new medicines. Working closely with our scientific colleagues, we help design laboratory experiments and clinical trials, conduct statistical analyses, and gather, analyse and interpret key data. Above all, we give everything we do 100% – a statistic that we're rightly proud of. Join us in one of our three core functions and you'll enjoy genuine scope for career progression, not to mention ongoing opportunities for personal and professional development in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Clinical Statistics – Our clinical statisticians work with clinicians and pharmacologists in the design, interpretation and analysis of clinical trials. At the moment, Clinical Statistics is focusing on adaptive trial design: a pioneering way of delivering more considered designs in clinical trials.

Research Statistics – Research (non-clinical) statisticians provide high quality statistical support across all phases of drug discovery. They collaborate regularly with scientists on experimental designs in pre-clinical efficacy and safety studies, and the data they deliver is instrumental in deciding whether or not a drug progresses through the pipeline.

Veterinary Medicine – Liaising with experienced clinicians, this team provides statistical consulting and programming expertise in support of novel livestock and companion animal medicine development. Specifically, they advise on study design, provide statistical input to protocols and reports, and respond to regulatory queries.

This intake is now complete for 2008. Please check back after September for next year's requirements.
