"The pre-reg year at Pfizer gave us the opportunity to gain valuable experience of the pharmaceutical industry, from drug discovery to final product release. The additional support given by the mentors allowed us to successfully progress through the year and pass our exams"
"The pre-reg at Pfizer is one of the most challenging experiences of your pharmacy career. It gives you the opportunity to find out what your strengths and weaknesses are and, with the support you receive, allows you to develop into a well-rounded professional. Highly recommended!"
"It is a fantastic experience to undertake a pre-registration placement at Pfizer and you have a wide variety of opportunities and get to meet a lot of people from different areas. Make the most of the rotations and placements within Pfizer because they can make you consider career opportunities you might not have realised are available to you.
If you manage to get any experience in industry or are able to go on placements while at university that can be a really good opportunity to see if you will enjoy what Pfizer has to offer.
You have to be realistic that the 6 months clinical placement will be hard work but if you enjoy industry, it will definitely be worth the extra effort!"
"This is an exciting year for me! Pfizer pre-registration training has given me the best of both worlds: experience in industry and hospital pharmacy. I had so much fun working at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospital in London and have gained enormous clinical experience. In Pfizer, I'm working on a very interesting research project relating to tablet formulation science. It has allowed me to gain new skills and apply theoretical science into making good tablets that will be practical for patient to take. Apart from my project, I also have the opportunity to meet different enthusiastic people from other departments to gain a more holistic insight into the industry and the drug development process. Working for a big company like Pfizer can be a 'daunting' experience, but I have received huge amount of support from my tutor, supervisor, mentors, other pre-reg's and work colleagues. It is challenging and involves a lot of hard work, but definitely worth the experience!"
