Aimed at school leavers local to our Sandwich Laboratories, our TRA Scheme offers you a unique chance to pursue a career in science at Pfizer whilst studying for a degree at the same time. The scheme operates on a day-release study basis over a five-year period, first taking you through a HNC and then a BSc in your chosen subject. The remaining four days of each week will be spent in the laboratory, translating theory into practice as part of a research team. Opportunities exist across a wide range of departments and degrees supported include Chemistry, Biosciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
We'll cover your tuition fees and expenses, and support you throughout your studies. Meanwhile, you'll be assigned a supervisor who'll mentor you and guide you along the way. We employ and offer placements to many individuals who are at different stages of their education, so you'll be surrounded by plenty of peers, as well as experienced colleagues who'll be more than happy to point you in the right direction. And because you'll be employed as a permanent member of staff, you'll enjoy a competitive salary plus the same great range of benefits as everybody else.
To be eligible for the scheme, you'll need three A-levels, including chemistry or biology at grade C or above (not including General Studies), or equivalent. The ability to balance a career and part-time study is essential, as is an enthusiastic, team-focused approach.
We are not planning to recruit on to our TRA scheme in 2009 however please visit www.pfizer.co.uk to register your cv or apply for one of our current vacancies.
